經曰「佛告阿難」至「寧可類乎」者，述云：此後、寄事顯勝。有五：此初、以貧人對粟散王。有三：此初、寄事反問也。

Regarding the sūtra saying from “the Buddha told Ānanda” down to “how could they be compared?” the commentary states: Hereafter, worldly examples are employed to reveal superiority. There are five cases: this first compares an impoverished person to a millet-scattering king. There are three points: this first uses a worldly example to pose a rhetorical question.
