The sūtra says: "Looking to one another" down to "none find it strange." The commentary states: Next is inheriting and adopting a lack of faith. "Ling" (令) also means "instruct"; "su" (素) means "formerly." Those who "do not do good" lack practice; those who "do not recognize the Way and virtue" lack understanding. "Body" is the physical sense-faculties; "spirit" is the nature. "Mind" (citta) is the fruit; "intention" (manas) is the faculty. "Destiny" (gati) is the fruit; "path" (mārga) is the cause. That is, they are incapable of knowing the worldly and world-transcending causes and fruits of good and evil. "None find it strange" means there is no conduct that strikes them as strange.
