經曰「總猥憒擾」至「勤苦怱務」者，述云：此後、造惡受苦報。有四：此初、發貪追求也。猥（烏罪反），惡也，《字林》「眾也」，《廣雅》「頓也，又雜也」。擾者亂也。怱，又作忪，古文伀（之容反），《方言》「征伀，征遑遽」。賴（洛代反），《孝經》曰「一人有慶，兆民賴之」，註云：賴，蒙也。聊者，甘也。

The sūtra says: "Utterly vulgar, confused, and troubled" down to "toiling bitterly in hasty affairs." The commentary states: Next is creating evil and experiencing suffering retribution. There are four parts: this first is generating greed and pursuing objects. "Wei" (猥, wu-zui fan) means evil; the Zilin says "multitude"; the Guangya says "abrupt," and also "miscellaneous." "Rao" (擾) means disordered. "Cong" (怱) is also written as "song" (忪), in ancient text "zhong" (伀, zhi-rong fan); the Fangyan states: "Zhengzhong (征伀) means hurried and distressed." "Lai" (賴, luo-dai fan): the Xiaojing says, "When one person has good fortune, the millions of people rely (lai) on him"; the commentary states: "Lai means receive." "Liao" (聊) means "willingly."
