3.44

經曰「聞法能不忘」至「是故當發意」者，述云：此次、正勸發心也。即不忘彌陀所說，亦見彼佛心生敬重以為大喜。行順釋迦，釋迦所攝，故云我善友。

On the sūtra's words from "Hearing the Dharma and being able not to forget it" to "Therefore one should generate the intention," the Commentary states: Next is directly exhorting the generation of the mind. That is, not forgetting what Amida spoke, and seeing that buddha and generating reverence in one's mind, considering it a great joy. Practicing in accord with Śākyamuni, one is gathered in by Śākyamuni; hence he says, "my good friend."
