3.70

經曰「智慧如大海」至「猶如雪山」者，述云：此後、定慧對也。慧深廣如海，定高勝如山故。慧用明淨超日月，定能滿德如雪山故。

The sūtra says: "Wisdom like the great ocean... like the snow mountains." The commentary states: This latter part is the pair of concentration and wisdom. Wisdom is deep and vast like the ocean; concentration is lofty and supreme like a mountain. The function of wisdom is bright and pure, surpassing the sun and moon; concentration can fulfill virtues, like the snow mountains.
