The sūtra says: "A mind that loves the Dharma, delights in the Dharma, and rejoices in the Dharma." The commentary states: This is the sixth [part], practicing the conduct of wisdom. Some say: love is desire, delight is faith, and joy is attachment. Others say: love is the final fruition, delight is at the time of hearing, and joy is at the time of seeking. Neither is correct. For desire, faith, and the like are attendant practices of giving, morality, and so on; and proceeding from the end to the beginning lacks distinct justification, as it should follow their proper sequence. Here, [it means that] the wisdom of hearing loves and delights [in the Dharma], hence it says "loves the Dharma"; the wisdom of reflection relishes it, hence it says "delights in the Dharma"; the wisdom of cultivation nourishes the spirit, hence it says "a mind that rejoices [in the Dharma]."
