Some say: because causes are exhausted, they extinguish afflictions; because effects are exhausted, they are free of any mind toward bad destinies. This is not correct. For the effects do not consist solely of mind. Here, by leaving delusion behind they are free of afflictions, and because their karma is exhausted they are free of any mind toward bad destinies.
