There are two points: first, it explains that as the jeweled water flows among the flowers, its gentle ripples touch each other and emit wondrous sounds, and within the sounds all wondrous Dharmas are expounded; second, it explains that the jeweled water ascends the banks and flows along the branches, flowers, fruits, and leaves of the trees, whether upward or downward, and as they touch one another they emit wondrous sounds, and within the sounds all wondrous Dharmas are expounded. Sometimes they expound the suffering of sentient beings, awakening the great compassion of the bodhisattvas and encouraging them to guide others; sometimes they expound the teachings of humans and devas, or the teachings of the two vehicles, or the teachings of the stages before the bhūmis and on the bhūmis, or the teachings of the Buddha-stage and the trikāya.
