Fifth, from "at that time, that Buddha" down to "born in the jeweled pond," it directly clarifies, under the ninth gateway, the transformed assembly coming to welcome them at the end of life and the speed of their departure. This consists of six points: First, it clarifies that precisely when the practitioner recites the name, Amitābha dispatches a transformed assembly that appears in response to the voice. Second, it clarifies that once the transformed assembly appears, they join in praising the practitioner. Third, it clarifies that the transformed praise heard merely recounts the merit of reciting the Buddha's name, saying, 'I come to welcome you,' without mentioning the matter of hearing the sūtras. Looking at the intention of the Buddha's vow, it exclusively encourages rebirth through reciting the name with correct mindfulness as a swift matter; it is unlike miscellaneous and scattered karma, for as this sūtra and various other scriptures extensively praise in many places, encouraging one to recite the name is regarded as the essential benefit. One should know this. Fourth, it clarifies that upon receiving the words of the transformed assembly, they see light filling the room. Fifth, it clarifies that upon receiving the illumination of the light, the karmic life immediately ends. Sixth, it clarifies riding the flower following the Buddha to be born in the jeweled pond.
