4.96

三、從或有眾生下，至無有慚愧已來，正明第五門中簡機，舉出一生已來，造惡輕重之相。即有其五。一明總舉造惡之機。二明造作眾惡。三明雖作眾罪，於諸大乘不生誹謗。四明重牒造惡之人非智者之類也。五明此等愚人雖造眾罪，總不生愧心。

Third, from "or there may be sentient beings" down to "without shame or remorse," it directly clarifies, under the fifth gateway, the examination of capacity, setting forth the characteristics of the severity of evil deeds committed throughout life. This consists of five points: First, it generally brings up the capacity of those who do evil. Second, it clarifies the committing of manifold evils. Third, it clarifies that although they commit manifold sins, they do not slander the Mahāyāna teachings. Fourth, it reiterates that those who do evil are not of the class of the wise. Fifth, it clarifies that although such foolish people commit manifold sins, they do not give rise to a feeling of shame at all.
