經曰：「過十萬億佛土」，次釋第二定遠近也。若《觀音授記經》云：過百千佛剎。《清淨覺經》云：過千億萬須彌山佛國。《無量壽經》云：去此十萬億剎。語雖似殊，土數相似。《菩薩處胎經》云：去此西方十二萬億那由他，有懈慢國快樂安穩，人欲往生阿彌陀佛國者從此國過，人多染著即願生其中，遂不得到阿彌陀國。若見不貪不愛，即得越過到安樂國。

The sūtra says: 'Past a hundred thousand koṭis of Buddha lands.' Next is the explanation of the second [passage], determining the distance. The Guanyin shouji jing says: 'Past a hundred thousand Buddha lands.' The Qingjing jue jing says: 'Past a thousand koṭis of myriad Sumeru Buddha lands.' The Infinite Life Sūtra says: 'Departing from here by a hundred thousand koṭis of lands.' Although the words appear different, the number of lands is similar. The Bodhisattva in the Womb Sūtra says: 'Departing from here to the west by twelve myriad koṭis of nayutas, there is the Country of Lax Indolence, joyful and tranquil. Those among men who wish to be reborn in the land of Amitābha Buddha pass through this country. Many people become attached to it and immediately vow to be born therein, and consequently fail to reach Amitābha's land. If upon seeing it they are neither greedy nor attached, they can pass beyond it and reach the Land of Peace and Joy.'
