The sūtra says: "And at mealtime, they return to their own land to take food and practice walking meditation." Next, this explains the second: returning on the road limited to morning. It means that restricted from morning to mealtime, they immediately return to their land; this is the perfect purity of sustaining. It means they sustain their bodies either through the flavor of the Great Vehicle's Dharma and joy; therefore, having taken food, they explain the Dharma and recite the sūtras. Walking meditation means circumambulating and contemplating.
