言諸鳥者，或彌陀所化，作寶光狀似。此文有二：初敘、後釋去外疑。敘文有五：一、總標羽族；二、別列禽名；三、囀和雅音；四、詮論妙法；五、聞聲動念。

The mention of 'the birds' means they are transformed by Amitābha, produced in the appearance of jewel light. In this text there are two parts: first the narration, and then the explanation to remove external doubts. The narrating text has five parts: (1) generally indicating the feathered class; (2) individually listing the names of the birds; (3) warbling harmonious and elegant sounds; (4) explaining and discussing the wondrous Dharma; and (5) hearing the sounds and stirring thoughts.
