答：「如來意令大眾知定散二善三世諸佛為淨土因，故令重說。又冀此經永傳末代，後若結集知阿難所傳不虛，所以令說。非為已聞後不請而說，即當第二。其餘二經如前所釋可知。」

Answer: "The Tathāgata intended to let the great assembly know that the two kinds of goodness, concentrated and dispersed, are the causes for the pure land taught by the Buddhas of the three times, and therefore commanded him to preach it again. Furthermore, he hoped that this sūtra would be transmitted perpetually to later ages, and that when it was later compiled, people would know what Ānanda transmitted was not false; that is why he commanded it to be spoken. It is not that because they had already heard it, it was spoken without request and should therefore be second. The remaining two sūtras can be understood as explained before."
