3.28

一切諸佛所護念經者，即是此經也，准此具足應名稱讚阿彌陀佛不可思議功德，其文略也。一切諸佛所護念經者，諸佛護持明記憶念也，即眾行雖廣難方念佛之功德福，然多爭並持經之力，故使六方諸佛以神力而護持。沙界聖人乃一念而憶念，故云一切諸佛所護念經。

As for 'the Sūtra of the Protection and Mindfulness by All Buddhas,' it refers to this very sūtra; according to this, its complete title should be 'Praise of the Inconceivable Merits of Amitābha Buddha,' but the text is abbreviated. 'The Sūtra of the Protection and Mindfulness by All Buddhas' means that the Buddhas protect, sustain, clearly remember, and are mindful of it; that is, although the multitude of practices is vast, it is difficult to equal the merits and blessings of recollecting the Buddha, yet many contend with the power of upholding this sūtra; therefore, it causes the Buddhas of the six directions to protect and uphold it with their spiritual power. The sages of worlds numerous as sands are mindful of it in a single thought; hence it is called 'the Sūtra of the Protection and Mindfulness by All Buddhas.'"
