次、釋文中，此經凡有兩譯：一、姚秦羅什法師譯，即今本也；二、大唐玄奘法師譯，今見藏中。立題各異，如下所明。自古解釋凡有三家：唐慈恩法師《通讚》一卷，今朝孤山法師、霅溪法師皆有《疏記》見行于世，今之所出各從其志，時有異同，臨文目見。

Next, in explaining the text, this sūtra has two translations in all: First, the translation by Master Kumārajīva of the Yao Qin, which is the present version; second, the translation by Master Xuanzang of the Great Tang, which is found in the canon today. The established titles differ respectively, as explained below. From ancient times there have been three masters who commented on it: Master Ci'en of the Tang wrote one fascicle of the General Praise; in the present dynasty, Master Gushan and Master Zhaxi both have Commentaries and Subcommentaries circulating in the world. What is produced now follows each of their aims; occasionally there are points of agreement and difference, which will be witnessed when approaching the text.
