案道生曰：今說常我，判二教之分明也。僧亮曰：是可說之機，即為喚子之義也。法瑤曰：常教既興，無復濫佛之惑，義如洗乳也。寶亮曰：詮常之教如水，所詮之理如乳，義言洗也。

Daosheng comments: Now teaching the permanent ātman distinguishes the two teachings clearly. Sengliang comments: This capacity that can be spoken to is the meaning of calling the child. Fayao comments: Once the teaching of permanence has arisen, there is no longer the delusion of confusing the Buddha [with impermanence]; in sense this is like washing the breast. Baoliang comments: The teaching expressing permanence is like water, and the principle expressed is like milk; in sense it is called washing.
