案僧亮曰：廣上置答，未來未起，闡提不應說有佛性也。僧宗曰：猶執見有為難也。寶亮曰：明義粗障欲結還生之旨，故迦葉更致此問也。智秀曰：迦葉亦同未達，所以有問也。

Sengliang notes: "This expands on the set-aside answer above: that which has not yet arisen in the future should not be said to have buddhadhātu in an icchantika." Sengzong says: "He still grasps at seeing existence to raise the objection." Baoliang says: "The explanation roughly obstructed the principle of the fetters of desire giving birth again; hence Kāśyapa raises this question again." Zhixiu says: "Kāśyapa also similarly had not penetrated it, which is why he asked."
