Sengliang states: "'To enter' refers to the principle of permanence. Formerly obscured by impermanence, sentient beings did not see it; now that they are able to see it, it is termed 'entering.'" Sengzong states: "Above, he briefly broached permanence, but did not reveal its substance; now, having deprived them of what they attained, it is fitting to display its characteristics. 'Secret' means that it is unseen by the ten stages and can only be comprehended by a Buddha. The multitude of virtues is held within the consummate fruit; this is the meaning of 'treasury.'" Baoliang states: "'To abide' has three stages, namely faith, seeing, and attainment. What are they? From external ordinary beings up to the ninth stage, it is universally called 'abiding in faith'; the tenth stage is called 'abiding in seeing'; and only the Buddha dwells in the stage of 'abiding in attainment.'"
