次一偈半，慶得生信及與聞法。先彰所得，「佛如優曇」，明佛希有。下對此佛明其生信、聞法為難。「值生信難」，慶生信也；「遇已種善」，慶聞法也。下明所離，「永滅餓鬼」，生信所離，信樂供養，故離餓鬼；「亦復損減修羅種」者，聞法所離，聞法除疑，故離修羅。

The next one and a half verses celebrate obtaining the production of faith and hearing the Dharma. First it reveals what was obtained: "The Buddha is like an uḍumbara [flower]" clarifies that the Buddha is rare. Below, with respect to this Buddha, it clarifies that producing faith and hearing the Dharma are difficult. "Meeting him and producing faith is difficult" celebrates producing faith; "having encountered him, planting good" celebrates hearing the Dharma. Below, it clarifies what was avoided: "permanently extinguishing hungry ghosts" is what is avoided by producing faith, because faithfully delighting in making offerings avoids hungry ghosts; "also diminishing the asura race" is what is avoided by hearing the Dharma, because hearing the Dharma removes doubt and therefore avoids asuras.
