In the second section, "if it is a conditioned phenomenon" repeats what was posited. Below, the faults are revealed. Here, it first clarifies the faults with respect to the Buddha, and below "all conditioned phenomena," it reveals them by analogizing with similar cases. In the former, it first states, "it is a dharma of arising and ceasing"—an exposition via doctrinal principle, clarifying the fault of having arising and ceasing; "like a water bubble, rising swiftly and perishing swiftly" is an exposition via simile, clarifying the fault of having arising and ceasing. "Coming and going in transmigration" is an exposition via doctrinal principle, clarifying the fault of transmigrating; "just like the wheel of a cart" establishes a simile to reveal this fault. In the section below that reveals them by analogizing with similar cases, "all conditioned phenomena are also like this" means that all conditioned phenomena of birth and death likewise have these two kinds of faults. All conditioned phenomena are exemplars of this; if the Buddha were conditioned, how could he alone not be so?
