自下第二明因得果。初言「若人能知煩惱、煩惱因」等，明向後段佛因得果，乘言便故。「若不能」下，明上初段凡因得果。

Next below, the second clarifies attaining the fruit through causes. The opening statement, "If a person is able to know afflictions, the causes of afflictions," and so forth, clarifies the later section above on attaining the fruit through the Buddha's causes, taking advantage of the flow of the discourse. From "if one is unable to" onwards, he clarifies the first section above on attaining the fruit through ordinary causes.
