10.117

自下第五隨知斷除。於中三句：一教反推不斷食愛不離生等；二教反推不斷受因不得道果；三「是故」下依次正斷，先斷觸數、次受、次愛、後結名道。「若有能」下，結成有修。

From here below is the fifth [section], on severing and eliminating [them] following upon understanding. There are three clauses within it: first, it enjoins reverse inquiry—if one does not sever craving for food, one will not be free from birth and so forth; second, it enjoins reverse inquiry—if one does not sever the causes of feeling, one cannot attain the fruit of the path; third, from "For this reason..." downward, it correctly severs them in proper order—first severing the mental factor of contact, next feeling, next craving, and finally concluding with the name "the path". From "If there are those who can..." downward concludes that there is cultivation.
