合中但合第一、第三及與第四，不合第二。合初段中，「大眾之中入不淨法亦復如是」合迦羅林，此文略少，若具，應言受畜八種不淨法人亦復如是，於是眾中多有受畜。「如是八法」合樹眾多。「唯一持戒，不受不淨」合唯一樹名鎮頭迦。「知畜非法，然與同事不相捨離」合果相似。「如彼林」下舉喻以帖，此初段竟。

In the application, it applies only to the first, the third, and the fourth, not applying to the second. In applying the first section, "within the great assembly, entering into impure dharmas is also like this" applies to the kāla grove. This text is somewhat abbreviated; if stated completely, it should say that those who accept and keep the eight kinds of impure dharmas are also like this, with many accepting and keeping them within this assembly. "Such eight dharmas" applies to the many trees. "Only one upholds the precepts and does not accept the impure" applies to the single tree named tinduka. "Knowing that keeping them is contrary to the Dharma, yet engaging in the same activities with them and not parting from them" applies to the fruits being similar. From "like that grove" onward, the simile is adduced to match it; this completes the first section.
