就下正明不了義中,句亦有四:一就人語以明不了,「有時、非時」翻上第二,儉名有時、不儉非時。「有護、不護」翻前第三。餘之兩句略而不翻,噵言「如來悉聽受畜不淨之物」,故名不了;二「如是言」下結明不依;三「若有戒」下就其教法以明不了;四「如是」下結明非依,名彼三藏以為「三分」。

In the subsequent direct explanation of the non-definitive meaning, there are also four phrases: first, explaining the non-definitive with respect to the person's words: "appropriate time and inappropriate time" reverses the second above, where scarcity is termed "appropriate time" and non-scarcity is "inappropriate time." "Protecting and not protecting" reverses the third above. The remaining two phrases are omitted and not reversed, [such persons] saying, "The Tathāgata permits receiving and keeping impure items in all cases," and therefore it is called non-definitive; second, from "Such words..." downward, it concludes by clarifying what not to rely upon; third, from "If there are precepts..." downward, it explains the non-definitive with respect to its teachings; fourth, from "Such..." downward, it concludes by clarifying what is not to be relied upon, calling that tripiṭaka the "three divisions."
