「歸依法者」標牒所問，「則離殺害」明歸利益，顯歸所以。若歸別相三乘之法，此身之中雖離殺害，以其依行未成就故，餘身容使歸依外道殺害眾生祀祠之法；若就我性歸真法者，歸真行成，永更不歸其餘外道殺害之法。

"Those who take refuge in the Dharma" marks and takes up what was asked; "Then leave behind killing and harming" clarifies the benefit of refuge and reveals the reason for taking refuge. If one takes refuge in the Dharma of the three vehicles of distinct aspects, although within this life one leaves behind killing and harming, because one's practice of reliance is not yet perfected, in other lives one might still be led to take refuge in the sacrificial dharmas of non-Buddhists that kill and harm sentient beings; if, based on one's own nature, one takes refuge in the true Dharma, the practice of taking refuge in the true is accomplished, and one will forever never again take refuge in the killing and harming dharmas of other non-Buddhists.
