4.116

釋中有三：一略釋偈文、二問答廣辯、三難解者問答重顯。略中，「如來悉斷煩惱住智山」者，釋前偈中初之兩句及後偈中前之三句，「斷無量惱住智慧」者，釋後偈中初三句也，言「住山」者，釋前偈中初二句也，「見生常在無量煩惱」釋前偈中後之二句及後偈中末後一句。

The explanation has three parts: first, a brief explanation of the verse text; second, a detailed distinction through questions and answers; third, re-elucidating what is difficult to understand through questions and answers. In the brief [explanation], "the Tathāgata completely severs afflictions and abides on the mountain of wisdom" explains the first two lines of the preceding verse and the first three lines of the latter verse; "severing immeasurable afflictions and abiding in wisdom" explains the first three lines of the latter verse; saying "abides on the mountain" explains the first two lines of the preceding verse; and "seeing beings constantly amid immeasurable afflictions" explains the last two lines of the preceding verse and the very last line of the latter verse.
