上來教聖趣菩提行，自下第二明教凡夫趣菩提行。於中有二：一明法力得菩提義、二「菴羅樹觀三寶」下明其修力得菩提義。前中有三：一明法力令人發心、二「如佛說不見義」下法力起行、三「如大船」下法力得果。後中亦三，至時當辨。

The preceding section taught the noble ones' practice of proceeding toward bodhi; from here down is the second section, which explains teaching ordinary beings' practice of proceeding toward bodhi. Herein there are two parts: first, explaining the meaning of attaining bodhi through the power of the Dharma; second, from "Contemplating the Three Jewels at the āmra tree" onward, explaining the meaning of attaining bodhi through the power of one's cultivation. In the former, there are three parts: first, explaining that the power of the Dharma causes people to generate the [bodhi] resolve; second, from "As the Buddha spoke of the meaning of not seeing" onward, that the power of the Dharma gives rise to practice; third, from "Just as a great ship" onward, that the power of the Dharma attains the fruit. In the latter, there are also three parts, which will be distinguished when the time comes.
