In the first section, it first explains committing evil; below, it explains that what is done does not immediately receive the fruit like milk turning into curds, while ash covering and the fool treading are omitted without discussion. In the former part on committing evil, the text has three distinct parts: first, explaining that the icchantika does not actually see the Hīnayāna, because they lack the eye of wisdom; second, from "like an arhat" onward, they do not actually learn the Mahāyāna. There are two parables and two combinations: just as an arhat does not walk in birth and death, which is a metaphor for the icchantika not learning the Mahāyāna, combined below "without eyes"; just as an arhat diligently cultivates a mind of compassion, which is a metaphor for the icchantika diligently abandoning the Mahāyāna, combined below "an icchantika." Third, from "if someone speaks" onward, pretending to speak of the Mahāyāna and slandering the Hīnayāna: first explaining slandering the Hīnayāna; from "believing and receiving the Mahāyāna" onward, pretending to speak of the Mahāyāna. First it explains speaking of the Mahāyāna; from "although this person" onward explains that they do not truly believe; from "speaking thus" onward concludes to reveal the fault. "Such an evil person does not quickly receive the fruit, like milk turning into curds" explains the second line.
