4.174

下合顯法，「涅槃如是」合前良醫乃至廣知無量呪術。「於諸眾生有欲、無欲悉能令彼煩惱崩」者合醫見王，乃至㿃下虫血雜出。此中唯化無欲眾生，有欲前化，今乘舉之。「是諸眾生乃至夢」下合見生怖生，「乃至敬醫猶如父母」先合後帖。

Below, applying it to reveal the Dharma: "the Nirvāṇa [Sūtra] is likewise" matches the aforementioned skilled physician up to extensively knowing immeasurable incantations. "For all beings, whether with desire or without desire, it is entirely able to cause their afflictions to collapse" matches the physician seeing the king, up to discharging hemorrhoidal worms and blood mixed together. Here, it transforms only beings without desire; those with desire were transformed previously, and are mentioned here in passing. From "these beings [...] up to dream" below matches seeing and giving rise to fear; "up to respecting the physician just like their parents" first applies it and then attaches it.
