先觀佛寶，於中有四：一如來立喻反問迦葉如樹三變實滅不耶、二迦葉正答、第三如來約之顯佛、四迦葉述讚。

First, one contemplates the Buddha Jewel, within which there are four parts: first, the Tathāgata sets up the simile and poses a counter-question to Kāśyapa as to whether the tree, undergoing three transformations, truly perishes or not; second, Kāśyapa answers directly; third, the Tathāgata draws upon it to reveal the Buddha; fourth, Kāśyapa recites praises.
