「以是義」下第三結之。前兩段中就初以結，上明觀解，下次起行。初明自行，「迦葉復曰何因緣」下明利他行。前明自行，答上云何得不壞眾。文中，迦葉初問起發，上雖為問，去問既遙，將答重請，上下多然。下佛答之，精勤護法便與護法菩薩行同，不可求異，名「得眷屬不可破壞」，亦可是中唯明利他。

From "For this reason" downward, third, concludes it. Of the previous two sections, it concludes with respect to the first. Above clarified contemplation and understanding; below next arises practice. First it clarifies practice for oneself; from "Kāśyapa further said: For what cause and condition" downward, it clarifies practice for benefiting others. The former clarified practice for oneself, answering the above question: How does one obtain an indestructible assembly? In the text, Kāśyapa first initiates with a question; although he had asked above, because the previous question was far removed, as [the Buddha] is about to answer, he repeats the request—this is often the case throughout. Below, the Buddha answers him: diligently protecting the Dharma is then identical in practice with Dharma-protecting bodhisattvas and cannot be sought as different, which is termed "obtaining a retinue that cannot be destroyed"; alternatively, this section clarifies only benefiting others.
