第三段中，十二行半合為六偈，正說涅槃。前之十行兩兩為一，後兩行半合之為一，一一偈中皆先立其假設之喻。次約彼喻反明如來畢竟涅槃。後翻彼喻正明如來不入涅槃，不入涅槃是佛常住善有義也。末後一偈結勸止悲，是佛常住，不滅義故，應樂此法，不應啼哭。

In the third section, twelve and a half lines combine into six verses to directly explain nirvāṇa. The former ten lines combine two by two into one, and the latter two and a half lines combine into one. Within each verse, a hypothetical metaphor is first established; next, based on that metaphor, it indirectly clarifies that the Tathāgata's nirvāṇa is ultimate; afterwards, reversing that metaphor, it directly clarifies that the Tathāgata does not enter nirvāṇa. Not entering nirvāṇa is the profound and virtuous meaning of the Buddha's eternal abidance. The final one verse concludes by encouraging them to cease their sorrow; because this is the meaning of the Buddha abiding eternally and not becoming extinct, they should delight in this Dharma and should not weep.
