上明證因，自下明其教行之因，通教權實用化眾生是其因也。於此因中答上三問：一答說密、二答說竟及不畢竟、三答斷疑，云何不定通答不別。文中有三：第一迦葉領前問後，如來略答；二純陀、文殊、迦葉廣問，如來廣答；三迦葉領解，如來述讚。

Above, the cause of realization was explained; from here down, the cause of teaching and practice is explained: using the provisional and the real of the comprehensive teaching to transform sentient beings is that cause. Within this cause, the three questions above are answered: first, answering about speaking the secret; second, answering about speaking exhaustively and not definitively; third, answering about severing doubts. Why are they answered collectively without being separated? In the text there are three parts: first, Kāśyapa reviews the preceding and asks about what follows, and the Tathāgata briefly answers; second, Cunda, Mañjuśrī, and Kāśyapa ask in detail, and the Tathāgata answers in detail; third, Kāśyapa grasps and understands, and the Tathāgata approves and praises.
