In the sixth exchange, the Tathāgata first raises a verse spoken in the past. This verse was originally spoken for women: those women loathed the suffering of being subject to a husband, and therefore the Buddha spoke for them, "All being subject to others is called suffering," causing them to loathe a woman's body; "all being due to oneself is sovereign, peaceful, and happy," causing them to seek to become men. "All arrogance is extremely violent and evil" admonishes men to abandon loftiness and pride; "a virtuous and good person is loved and cared for by all" causes men to cultivate virtuous and good practices.
