第三番中，大眾初先設供奉佛，發心獲益，下佛現病，示將滅相。文別有四：一與文殊、迦葉等記；二誡勅大眾自修其心，慎莫放逸；三彰己背病，委法文殊及迦葉等；四現有疾，右脇即臥。

In the third round, the great assembly first prepares offerings to serve the Buddha, and upon generating their aspiration, obtains benefit; below, the Buddha manifests sickness, showing the signs of approaching extinction. There are four distinct sections in the text: first, he bestows predictions upon Mañjuśrī, Kāśyapa, and others; second, he admonishes the great assembly to cultivate their own minds and take care not to be negligent; third, he indicates back pain in himself and entrusts the Dharma to Mañjuśrī, Kāśyapa, and others; fourth, he manifests having an illness and lies down on his right side.
