In the fourth part, concluding the contemplation of the false and the real, following the conclusion of the contemplation of origin, he takes the opportunity to distinguish the other three. Now he first distinguishes the shallowness and depth of the meaning of the truths, and later discusses them in terms of persons. Suffering has three tiers: first, suffering; second, truth; third, reality. Oppressive affliction is suffering; the presence or absence of dharmic marks through causes and conditions being unfailing is designated as truth; exhausting its fundamental essence, it is the nature of the tathāgatagarbha, and because the nature of the tathāgatagarbha originally does not arise and now also does not cease, but is eternally tranquil in its self-nature, the essence of suffering is truly like this, and therefore it is called reality. The others are also like this. Now, based on this meaning, he reveals the distinctions in contemplation, and in order to clarify the bodhisattva, he also raises ordinary people and the two vehicles to make it clear.
