自下第四明須驗試，文別有四：一明其難信、二許往驗試、三重明難信、四重驗試。前中初先總明難信，「何以」下釋，「大仙！我見如是」下結。釋中，無量百千眾生發菩提心，見少因緣於菩提動，法說難信。下喻顯之，二喻，二合。

From here onward is the fourth, clarifying the necessity of testing, which has four distinct parts in the text: first, clarifying that it is hard to believe; second, consenting to go and test; third, reiterating that it is hard to believe; fourth, testing again. In the former, first it generally clarifies that it is hard to believe; from "why is this?" downward, it explains; from "Great Immortal! I have seen such..." downward, it concludes. In the explanation, immeasurable hundreds of thousands of sentient beings produce the bodhicitta, yet seeing a minor condition, waver regarding bodhi; the dharma explanation is that it is hard to believe.
