第三難中，執因疑果。「若當真實不得樂者」牒上虛因，「如佛說」下舉其實果，「若不實者，云何得與此義相應」執因疑果。就舉果中，「如佛說」等別明慈果，「獨修慈心乃得」下結。

In the third objection, he clings to the cause to question the fruit. "If indeed they truly do not obtain joy" refers back to the above false cause. From "as the Buddha said" onward, he brings up its real fruit. "If it is not real, how could it accord with this meaning?" clings to the cause to question the fruit. In bringing up the fruit, "as the Buddha said, etc." separately explains the fruit of benevolence, and from "only by cultivating the mind of benevolence does one then obtain..." onward, it concludes.
