From "Kāśyapa addressed [the Buddha]" onward is the third major section, which turns back to answer the earlier second round of objections and explains that benevolence has real benefit. Within this, it first explains that benevolence has real benefit; from "One that is immeasurable is inconceivable" onward, it praises its supremacy in terms of reality. The earlier [part] contains three: first, it explains that the bodhisattva's benevolence has real benefit; second, from "I say that this benevolence has immeasurable..." onward, it explains that the Buddha's benevolence has real benefit; third, from "For this reason, the bodhisattva's cultivation of benevolence is indeed real" onward, it concludes so as to reveal reality. In the first [part], Kāśyapa raises the challenge again, the wording of which is as above: first, "What the bodhisattva has is real, whereas what the śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas [have] is not real" repeats the Buddha's previous words; below, posing an objection, "Why do not all sentient beings, through the bodhisattva's transcendent power and so forth, experience joy?" queries the benefit on the basis of reality. From "If all beings do not obtain joy" onward, he refutes the reality of benevolence by challenging it with the absence of benefit.
