Second, seeing them create karma, one pities them like a child. First, it establishes the simile: the dharmakāya not yet augmented is called "childhood"; creating evil with the body is called "taking dirt or the like and putting it into the mouth"; the bodhisattva's observing and knowing it is called "the parents seeing it"; fearing that it will incur future suffering is called "fearing it will cause harm"; extracting the mind with concentration is called "holding the head with the left hand"; teaching them to stop with skillful wisdom is called "picking it out with the right hand." Next, applying it to reveal the doctrine: "The bodhisattva likewise" applies to the preceding parents; "seeing all sentient beings" applies to the preceding having seen; "the dharmakāya not yet augmented" applies to the preceding childhood; "performing bodily karma and so forth" applies to taking dirt or the like and putting it into the mouth; "then extracts it with wisdom" applies to picking it out with the right hand—holding the head with the left hand is omitted and not applied; from "not wishing to let..." onward applies to fearing it will cause harm. From "For this reason" onward is the conclusion.
