5.382

下明隨逐，先喻、次合。「菩薩如是」合前父母，「見諸眾生」合有一子，「若墮地獄、畜生、餓鬼」合前睡也，「造作善、惡」合行、住等，造善如行，在惡如似住、坐、臥等，「常念不捨」合心常念，「若行諸惡不生瞋」等合有罪咎，善言誘喻「不加其惡」，「是故」下結。

Below explains following after them: first the simile, next the application. "The bodhisattva is like this" applies to the preceding parents; "seeing all sentient beings" applies to having an only child; "if they fall into hell, the animals, or hungry ghosts" applies to the preceding sleeping; "creating good or evil" applies to walking, standing, and so forth—creating good is like walking, while abiding in evil is like standing, sitting, lying down, and so forth; "constantly mindful and not abandoning" applies to the mind constantly thinking [of them]; "if they commit various evils, not giving rise to anger..." and so forth applies to having offenses—persuading them with wholesome words, "he does not add to their evil." From "For this reason" onward is the conclusion.
