第二段中，迦葉初先取意以答，「如我解佛所說義者應墮地獄」，「何以」下釋。釋中，先舉如來昔日明於非情不得惡心，後明惡心故墮地獄，並皆先問，後答可知。

In the second section, Kāśyapa first captures the intent in his reply: "According to how I understand the meaning of what the Buddha has spoken, one should fall into hell." The explanation begins below with "Why?". In the explanation, he first raises that the Tathāgata in the past explained that one must not harbor an evil mind toward insentient things, and later explains that because of an evil mind one falls into hell; both are first asked and then answered, as can be known.
