第三句中，徵名求義故問「何故名為黑闇」，「女人答下」正辯死能，死相一現，依報頓捨，故言「能令其家財寶一切衰耗」。

In the third clause, examining the name to seek its meaning is why he asks, "Why are you named Darkness?"; from "The woman answered" downward directly clarifies the function of death; as soon as the characteristic of death manifests, circumstantial retribution is suddenly abandoned, which is why she says, "I can cause all the wealth and treasures of that household to decline and be exhausted."
