解善逝中，先問、後釋。釋有三義，第一偏就果德以釋，「善者名高，逝名不高，是世間義」，舉世語義。下約顯法，「高名菩提」位分高出，「不高佛心」佛心無慢，「是故」下結。

In explaining Sugata, there is first an inquiry and then an explanation. In the explanation there are three meanings. The first explains it exclusively in terms of the virtues of fruition: ''Su' means high, and 'gata' means not high—this is the worldly meaning', raising the conventional linguistic meaning. Below, it explains the Dharma accordingly: ''High' is called bodhi', the rank being preeminently high; ''not high' is the Buddha-mind', the Buddha-mind being without arrogance; from 'therefore' downward, it concludes.
