無上士中，先問、後釋。釋中五番，此五是彼《地持》所說七無上中五無上也。初一「無斷」是斷無上。第二「無諍」是正無上，彼有四正，謂正威儀、正戒、正見及與正命，此中無諍是彼正見。第三門中，「語不可壞」是智無上，寄言顯之。第四「上座」是身無上。第五門中，「無新無故」是住無上。彼道無上、神力無上，此中略無。

In 'unexcelled person' (anuttara), there is first a question and then an explanation. In the explanation there are five turns; these five are five of the seven unexcelled qualities spoken of in the *Bodhisattvabhūmi*. The first, 'without termination', is unexcelled abandonment. The second, 'without dispute', is unexcelled correctness: therein are four kinds of correctness, namely correct deportment, correct morality, correct view, and correct livelihood; here 'without dispute' is that correct view. In the third gate, 'words that cannot be destroyed' is unexcelled wisdom, revealed by relying on speech. The fourth, 'senior seat', is unexcelled body. In the fifth gate, 'without new and without old' is unexcelled abiding. Unexcelled path and unexcelled spiritual power are omitted here.
