初中，「無量眾生發心，見生死過即便退沒」舉劣顯勝。「菩薩不」下辯勝過劣，「雖未階」下牒以歎勝，名歡喜地為「初不動」。

In the first point, "Immeasurable sentient beings generate the mind, yet seeing the faults of birth-and-death they immediately regress and sink" adduces the inferior to reveal the superior. From "Bodhisattvas do not..." downward explains the superior transcending the inferior; from "Although not yet having attained..." downward takes this up to praise their superiority, naming the Ground of Joy the "first immovable".
