第四段中，「誰得安眠」對第二段而為徵問，「謂慈悲是」就人指斥，菩薩常行益物，是故就德說為慈悲。「常修」已下明安所以，「慈悲常不放逸」是第二中初之四偈自利之德，「視眾如子」是第二中後一偈半化他之德。

In the fourth section, "Who attains peaceful sleep?" raises a questioning challenge with respect to the second section. "It refers to [those of] benevolence and compassion" points directly to the persons: bodhisattvas constantly practice benefiting beings, and therefore are spoken of as benevolence and compassion in terms of their virtues. From "constantly cultivates" onward explains the reason for their peacefulness: "benevolence, compassion, and constant heedfulness" are the virtues of benefiting oneself in the initial four verses of the second [section]; "regarding the multitude like a child" is the virtue of transforming others in the latter verse and a half of the second [section].
