In the third [passage], renewing the aspiration, the text has three distinct parts: 1. one's own practice includes others: due to the king's vows, countless people give rise to the bodhi-mind; 2. from "By such..." downward, benefiting others includes oneself: due to their giving rise to the mind, the king's guilt becomes slight and thin; 3. from "The king and..." downward summarizes that all gave rise [to the mind]. In the former, he first clarifies that the king makes vows himself, and afterwards causes others to give rise [to the mind]. In the former, "I now see the Buddha's merit, destroying the defilements and evil minds of sentient beings" briefly gives rise to the intentional thought; from "The Buddha said..." downward, the Tathāgata predicts and praises; from "If I truly..." downward, he re-initiates the great vow; others' giving rise [to the mind] can be understood. In the second passage, it first explains others' giving rise [to the mind], and afterwards explains that King Ajātaśatru's grave guilt became thin. The third can be understood.
