6.411

第五門中，「不聞多疑」總舉所斷，次別顯之，於中有五：一於五陰疑或，不知何者是我；二六根對我疑惑，不知何誰能見乃至能知；三五陰對我疑惑，不知何誰受報；四五陰對我疑惑，不知誰至後世；五於生死疑惑，不知為有始終、為無始終。下明此疑聽經悉斷。

In the fifth gate, "not hearing, they have many doubts" generally raises what is to be severed. Next, it reveals them individually, in which there are five: first, doubting and being deluded about the five aggregates, not knowing which is the self; second, doubting regarding the six sense faculties in relation to the self, not knowing who it is that can see and up to who it is that can know; third, doubting regarding the five aggregates in relation to the self, not knowing who receives retribution; fourth, doubting regarding the five aggregates in relation to the self, not knowing who goes to future lifetimes; fifth, doubting regarding saṃsāra, not knowing whether it has a beginning and end or has no beginning and end. Below, it clarifies that these doubts are all severed upon listening to the sūtra.
